I saw my teacher:

Knowledgeable and honored,

She must be free and decisive,

But that's not how he treats her.

I saw my mother:

She is a "home-maker,"

The giver and the blesser;

She is working too

But none ever sees her.

Her work is hidden

Behind her role as a woman;

People never see it,

Her efforts are never beholden.

Her knowledge is seldom honored,

She still needs the approval:

The stamp from a man

To be heard and to be proven.
